This French term is used in Québec to designate a metal frame resembling a sawhorse with insulators on top. It is put on the roof of buildings where the customer drop extends a great distance over the roof before reaching the weatherhead to ensure clearance between the low-voltage drop cable and roof.
Previous English translations have used 'trestle' but I find this doubtful. Do you know the name of this kind of support?
