This is from an article dealing with the omnipresence of power electronics in networks/industry, and the impact on transformers. It says that there are more and more cases of "magnétistion avec composante continue". Does this mean that the direct component causes the magnetization? Thanks for your help!

Yes, exactly that!
It is a great problem these days; more and more electronic equipment takes unequal chunks out of the positive and negative half-cycles of the (nominally sinusoidal) mains, and the nett result is a phantom residual DC component. This problem is greater in the UK, where the L / N polarity is defined (by the use of 3-pin 13 A plugs), rather than in those countries that still use 2-pin plugs, and hence, there is a 50:50 chance of L/N being reversed.
Of course, this is also a localized problem in industry, and the result of DC magnetization is that transformers have to be over-rated (to allow for saturation / heating), and this in turn makes them more costly; a problem above all for the supply companies.
