French term

Telemedecine

French to English Medical Computers: Systems, Networks
I have a contract with some medical terms in it. Since medical isn't my specialty, I was wondering if you could help me out with this one. The context is "Telemedicine, acces d'ordinateurs, tranmission de messages et d'images assistee par ordinateur." I'm shying away from translating it as "telemedecine." Is there perhaps a better way to capture the meaning?

I don't see how you can call it anything else without a long-winded definition like that found in Websters

agree Andreas THEODOROU : This term is very specific, well known and widely used in medical circles. There's no need to look any further. And it shouldn't be too difficult for laypeople to figure out - 'tele' by analogy with television.
