French term

servitudes des lieux

French to English Law/Patents Cinema, Film, TV, Drama
This appears in a description of the seating capacity for the performance of a show. the seating capacity is stated and then it continues:

"Ce nombre inclut les servitudes des lieux au nombre de ainsi que les exonérés au nombre de ".

I presume it is a certain number of seats that are reserved for the owner of the premises.

thanks

I just found this definition: servitudes: Places pouvant être libérées à tout moment pour recevoir des élus de haut rang tels que le président de la République, son épouse, ses enfants et les membres de son service de sécurité

any ideas on the english equivalent?

Just some ideas: "This number takes into account (inclut) seating restrictions (servitudes) for the venue as well as reserved (exonérés) places."

I'd have thought it was more like... staff seating of some kind — perhaps the spaces reserved for attendants, usherettes, etc.? Or security staff...
How many is the 'nombre de...' — that might help give a clue?
Could also be the seats reserved for those accompanying PMRs, for example...
