to dispose of

A rarely used term in this type of text. "aberrer dans la foule" means "to abscond in the crowd". Could mean something like "to liquidate" or "dispose of" the properties in this context.

to deviate from the norm

Hello,

I know that "aberrer" has two main meanings: to err or to deviate from the norm. I would say it means the latter here, It might not be the best way to say in English in this context, but I think it could work.

I hope this helps.
