French term

NPP

French to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general)
From a paper manufacturing company's newsletter reviewing the company's performance throughout the year and the factors that have affected it:

"Il nous faut réduire nos dépenses **NPP**/ maintenance - Objectif -15%"

Any suggestions as to the meaning of NPP in this context? It only appears this once which isn't really enough for me to make an educated guess without knowing for certain what it refers to. The only ref. to 'NPP' I can find that MIGHT fit is the 'Nouvelle Politique du Personnel', but I think that might be pushing it a bit.

Many TIA,

Vicky

Non-Production Procurement

I think this is what you're after.

Two examples:
"Non-Production Procurement (NPP), at Xerox, covers all purchases of
supplies other than supplies used in the actual production of copying
machines. Thus, all office supplies, from desks and personal computers to
pencils and stationary comes under the category of non-production
procurement.
In early 1994, Xerox was spending about $4.3 billion dollars a year on NPP.
Xerox realized that the redesign of this process represented a major
opportunity to save money."

"Non-Production Procurement (NPP) includes the goods and services that are necessary to support the daily operations of a business. These items range from office supplies to consulting services and can easily represent one-third of a company’s total spend."
