French term

déafleurement

French to English Tech/Engineering Aerospace / Aviation / Space
Hello this word has me stumped I've searched in monolingual and bilingual dictionaires to no avail; I googled it but that didn't yield anything helpful either; It is a sample from an aerospace text. Here is the entire paragraph:

I.1.2 Trappes secondaires arrières

Thanks in advance!

Unevenness

I think this should have been "désaffleurement". If you go to GDT, you'll find it translated as unevenness, but you might want to consider something like "...ensure that the [...] lie flush with the fuselage"
Peer comment(s):

agree sueaberwoman : Came to the same conclusion. It does seem to call for changing it to a positive sentence and flush or a similar term should work.

opening?

really, and what is gap if not an openning?

incomplete sealing

... prevents incomplete sealing/airtightness.
We are talking about air-pressurisation being 100% maintained.

But, I may be somewhat off-course! It may well be Wendy's "unevenness" if pressurisation is not the crux: then I would go for "NON-FLUSHNESS" or "not close-fitting". Yes, better to positivise the sentence!
Peer comment(s):

neutral Speakering (X) : positivise? not inspired enough.
