French term

animation dans le temps

French to English Marketing Advertising / Public Relations
It comes by itself, under the schedule for the launch of a product, together with other activities. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Discussion

ormiston Oct 10, 2013:
I obviously agree (!) if these are actual events. Otherwise 'promotional activities' might be safer.
David Hayes Oct 10, 2013:
It could be 'ongoing promotional events'. I understood the text as referring back to the launch, but it could indeed be referring to events/ actions that come after the launch.
Isabel Peck (asker) Oct 10, 2013:
Thanks everyone. What do you thing of "ongoing promotional events"? Would it be acceptable in yr opinion?
Isabel Peck (asker) Oct 9, 2013:
The product is high-end jewellery.
Other activities are really only editions.
Victoria Britten Oct 9, 2013:
A bit more, please Knowing what the other activities in the list are might be a help; also knowing what sort of product we're talking about.
What are the other activities?

management over time

Hard to judge with hardly any context, but I wonder if they might be talking about managing the launch over time. Although 'dans le temps' often means 'autrefois', I have sometimes seen it used differently to mean 'over time'.
Note from asker:
Thanks a lot, David. I opted for ongoing promotional events.

long-term sales drive

Hello,

It has to do with a sales drive for the company that's for the long haul

animation = sales drive

dans le temps = long-term (almost sure here).

I am sorry that I don't have any links for you.

I hope this helps.
Note from asker:
Thanks for your help. I went with ongoing promotional events. Isabel

I wanted to share this. The sixth entry for the term 'animation' I thought would be worth at least checking out. It's an English term in marketing and advertising: "DEF – In marketing, a set of activities designed to promote the image of a commercial outlet or shopping centre. Its objective is to increase the flow of target buyers as well as increase business. In addition to decoration and music, competitions and sales promotions are also organised."
