Flemish term

volgens de regels der kunst...

Flemish to English Tech/Engineering Construction / Civil Engineering
"Het plaatsen van een zinken afwatering volgens de regels der kunst, om de afwatering van de gemene gevel te verzekeren"
The best translation I can find that would "fit" this is "according to/as per/as stated in the rule book/book of rules..." Am I correct or is there a better translation for this?

Found answer in English to Dutch Kudos answer!! Sorry y'all, should have checked all Kudos better. The answer is "according to art and best practices..."

Proposed translations

lege artis = according to the law of the art

it is dutch for lege artis, according to the law of the art

sth has to be done according to the rules and practice of its field,

used in pharmacy, medicine and in other fields where there are strict rules of doing things

and it is not flemish but DUTCH!
Note from asker:
Thanks, Petr. BTW, the text I am translating is Flemish. However, the expression may be Dutch, you are right.
