English term

Notice

English Law/Patents Real Estate
There is a special term for a notice that has to be filed with a land registry to stop any other property related transactions until the current transaction is finished or canceled. I cannot recall this term.

Thank you for your help.

Yes, I think the term is a caveat. See: http://www.meyervandenberg.com.au/property-construction/my-c...

2 lorena I believe that this term is too general.
lorenab23 Mar 30, 2016:
do you mean a caveat?
philgoddard Mar 30, 2016:
Ooh! Ooh! I know a lawyer who just LOVES rare Latin terms. Are you reading this, Adrian?
boostrer (asker) Mar 30, 2016:
It seems to me that it is some rare Latin term, as far as I remember.
Actually, philgoddard is right. My description was incorrect. I mean the notice, which PREVENTS any transactions. It is filed by the seller and potential buyer to avoid any potential complications.
philgoddard Mar 30, 2016:
Stop notice?
