Hi All!
I'm interested in knowing some antonyms for House. I'm unable to find anything better than "an open space". I'd like of like one word antonyms of possible.
This looks like a cool place. Have a nice day!

does this make sense?
You give no context for this question. However, in principle, "house" is not a word that has an "antonym". The answers given so far assume that you really mean indoors or enclosed space by "house" - but then why use the word "house" at all? If by "house" you mean a constructed/built space, then the opposite would be "unbuilt". But, again, why use the word "house" at all?

My note just disappeared into cyberspace. Now that we have more explanation, I suggest that you really need to use "home", not "house" and as the contrast (not antonym), something like: exile, homelessness, rootlessness, banishment, uprootedness ...

: not really sensible, but I THINK it's about songwriting - my husband writes and he's always posing this type of question so I'll go along with it

Discussion
Thanks for the replies! I understand now that house refers to the constructed object. Sheila Wilson is correct, I am trying to create a clever lyric using the opposite of house, or home. It's really the idea, or image, of home/a house that I'm aiming to find an opposite for.
Any ideas? Happy 2010!!
