In your text where the subject matter is psychological, a physical exam per se may not be involved. Therefore, the first example below is pertinent to your type of text.
The second example gives a more general idea -- that objective is being used to mean non-subjective, not merely reported by the patient. Signs in this case means actions, or movements or lack of actions or movements that would otherwise be normal.
HERE ARE SOME EXAMPLES:
Major depression is an illness with objective physical signs occurring with some consistency. These signs are retardation of movements and diminished gestures and expressions
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19396703
If the patient answered in the affirmative to all subjective screening questions a short physical exam was implemented. A positive finding for one or more of the five following physical assessment procedures was considered a positive
confirmation of positive subjective history findings and patient met inclusion criteria as an osteoarthritic patient. The objective physical signs were as follows: 1) Joint line tenderness at the affected joint. 2) Crepitus with motion at the affected joint. 3)
Joint enlargement due to ostosis. 4) Effusion of the affected joint.
