Reading the whole text, I understood that an artificial lens is implanted in the eye after the cataract operation. It seems to be glued and enables later laser treatment. On Wikipedia, you can find some mentions about "lentille intra-oculaire". Germans also seem to use also "IOL".

Moreover, please note that intraocular lens is not the same as contact lens (as entered in the glossary); I am removing the glossary entry

Hi Fabienne, the question was in the Deu>Fra pair; the glossary is in fact En>En - shouldn't at least the language pair be changed?
