what do they mean by "nibbed peanuts"?

The R.M. Curtis & Co. website advertises:
nibbed (chopped) walnuts

I guess they're called "nibbed" because they've been hacked up into little nibs.

I've never encountered the term before, and assume it's perhaps more of a UK English expression.
