English term

created???

English Science History Indian maths
The following text doesn't make much sense for me (only in the marked places).

MELVYN BRAGG: Can you put a final word in there, Dennis …

DENNIS ALMEIDA: Yeah, I mean there is definitely the case that they [(41:27 ); created???] a mathematics and [they did …]???(41:28) mathematics came from different epistemological bases. To understand Indian mathematics within the Greek context would require you to actually get into somebody else’s frame set ...

Thanks in advance. Darek

I think that what is meant here is something like that:
Mathematicians coming from the Greek tradition did mathematics [that] came from different epistemological bases. To understand Indian mathematics within the Greek context would require you to actually get into somebody else’s frame set ...

Do you agree?
DarekS (asker) Dec 17, 2006:
Still it doesn't make any sense for me. "DENNIS ALMEIDA: Yeah, I mean there is definitely the case that they … Greek mathematics mathematics and they did mathematics came from different epistemological bases".

Can you clarify what is meant here?

Greek

I think the schwa after "Greek" put Darek on the wrong foot.
Dennis seems to say: "Greeka mathematics and the Indian mathematics came ..."
