profiling

English Tech/Engineering Chemistry; Chem Sci/Eng
With increasing costs in drug discovery and development, it is important that only the compounds with ¡°drug-like¡± properties, progress into development. That is the goal of physicochemical profiling and ADME study during early drug candidate selection and lead optimization in the quest of new successful therapeutic agent

prepare a profile of the drug

Prepare a profile of the drug so that it becomes easy to determine whether the drug has potential and whether it is worth developing it further.

It means prepare a list of characteristics of the drug and its potential uses. Just like we prepare our own profiles in which we list out our qualities and skils etc.

In the case of the drugs, the drugs properties are listed out in the profile. Building up such a profile is called profiling the drug.

property/feature description

The "profiling" here means "property description" or "feature description". And "physicochemical profiling" means "physicochemical property description".
