English term

qualification start date

English Art/Literary Business/Commerce (general)
context:

This is email is to remind you of the ACCB project you joined. We thank you for your confirmation to join the project. Your qualification start date is on October 01, 2016. You will be contacted by the Qualifications team on or before the said date. The project manager will contact you on the said date and they will provide the needed documents for you to get started.

question: what will The project manager send? docs to do a test or docs as part of a job to start that job?

Discussion

Agree with Veronika. I suggest you ask the client about the docs. We can't guess what they are from this context and I don't think we should try, because it can lead to wrong conclusions and/or wrong translations.
Veronika McLaren Sep 25, 2016:
In other words I would say it is test material to start the qualification process. However, only the client can say for sure what is being forwarded to the candidate. The university also has a "qualifications team", i.e. assessors or judges.

job application job application thanks Veronica, but it is an email from a company regarding a job application
Veronika McLaren Sep 25, 2016:
Perhaps a university? "The QCF is an accessible framework providing flexible routes to full qualifications.

Every unit and qualification in the QCF has a credit value that tells you how long it takes to complete – one credit represents 10 hours’ work.

Each unit and qualification has its own level, between Entry level and level 8. The level indicates the challenge or complexity of the qualification with level 3 being equivalent to ‘A’ levels and level 8 being equivalent to PhD.

The combined credit value of a qualification dictates the size:

Award (1 to 12 credits)
Certificate (13 to 36 credits)
Diploma (37 credits or more)" - check out the Open University (England, Ireland, Wales); perhaps this position requires similar qualification testing.

sorry thanks Martins, it is an email from a company regarding a job application
Can you provide more context? e.g. is this an email from a company regarding a job application, or from a university, or something else...? You say the area is Art/Literary and also Business/Commerce, so I'm a bit confused.

Document to start the test

From the text I understand that:
- The candidate applied for ABCD's project.
- The candidate passed the prequalification.
- ABCD contacted the candidate to proceed with the next phase in their recruitment process (qualification or test)
- The candidate has to pass the test before he can start working.
- Before test, PM might give candidate materials to help them prepare with the test.

Therefore, said documents might include materials related to the company's background, the specialization of the position or the department the candidate applied for etc. They are not documents to start the job.

I think this is the best extent to which we can narrow down the possibility.
