Again, some work to do here. That speaks to the flat gallons that we had talked about.
[What does it refers to? What are 'flat gallons'?]

gallons of paint with a flat (matte, non-reflective) surface

Sherwin-Williams is a paint manufacturing company. "Gallons" presumably therefore refers to gallons of paint, a US gallon being 3.785 liters/litres.

"Flat", in the context of paint, is another word for "matte" or "mat", the opposite of glossy: paint which when dry has a completely non-reflective surface.

Without further context it's not possible to say what significance these gallons of flat paint have in the financial report.

It could refer specifically to flat paint in the one gallon size: so, for example, perhaps the flat quarts and the flat five gallons are selling well, but the flat gallons, for some reason, are not.

Examples of this use of "flat gallon":

""There is no difference in price between my paint and Aura," Volk insists. Since her interior flat retails for $50-$54 per gallon, it's actually $2 less. Kennon's interior flat gallons run $52-$56. Kaufman charges $95-105 – about as high as paint goes."

Thanks, Trudy!
agree Yvonne Gallagher : it seems very plausible. Well done on decryption with such a small amount of context.

Thanks very much, gallagy :)
neutral rokotas : I agree that it is necessary to have more context. Anyway the asker can find out, from said context, if 'flat' here has the meaning described so far, or - my imagination can go still further - flat gallons might mean that sales in volume are flat.

Thank you, Rokotas. I quite agree that we cannot be sure of the meaning without further information. "Flat" could have a different meaning, as you say.
neutral B D Finch : Ingenious, but risky in view of lack of context supplied by Asker.

Well, maybe, but I think there's a good chance it's right, given the lack of obvious alternatives. Anyway, if we hear more, perhaps things will become clearer.

How to Pick the Right Paint Finish

Flat or Matte Finish
Flat enamel is a paint with a durable flat, matte finish. A downside to flat paint is that stains are more difficult to remove because unlike paints with a higher sheen, their non-reflective surfaces have a porous texture which can trap dirt and make cleaning more challenging. While some flat paints are advertised as washable today, you may need to touch up scratches or marks by covering with a bit more paint, so be sure to keep some on hand after you’ve finished painting.
