Sociology: Family Composition
This request is for my own personal use first and professional use second.
I am in a situation where I have 4 daughters from a previous marriage and 1 son from my current marriage.
At times my 5 children live as part of the family' of one of their non-biological "parents", i.e. one of my Australian daughters lives with me here in Vietnam, or my son (Vietnamese mother) lives with his half-sisters in Australia.
The general term used for this situation in Australian Culture is a "Blended family". I am very interested in what my peers think is a suitable translation for my Vietnamese family, who meet my girls from Australia and must accept them into the family, and vice versa.
Cheers,
Shane
