Redirect to Hold Service Details

Redirect to Hold allows the recipient to redirect their FedEx Express or FedEx Ground® package(s) to an eligible FedEx Office Print & Ship Center℠ or FedEx World Service Center locations while the shipment is in transit. Redirect to Hold is available for all origins but only for the 50 U.S. States as destinations.

FedEx Home Delivery® packages may be redirected to eligible FedEx Office Print & Ship Center locations only. The Home Delivery surcharge is waived when the package is redirected.

Note: Driver released packages are not eligible for Redirect to Hold service (the customer cannot request RTH after delivery has been made.
The customer must populate the HAL address or the shipment will fail.

Note: A customer must first perform a Track request in order to determine if a shipment is eligible for Redirect-to-hold. The customer must execute a Locator request to obtain acceptable Ground HAL and RTH locations before submitting the respective transaction.
For signature required packages (Adult Signature Required, DSR, ISR, and Appointment Delivery-Home Delivery only), the customer may only Redirect to Hold if the first delivery attempt has not been made. However, packages not driver released may be redirected after the first delivery attempt has been made.

FedEx Ground and Home Delivery packages can only be redirected to FedEx Office Print & Ship Center locations in the same delivery area (based on recipient’s ZIP code) of the Ground or Home Delivery terminal the package would have been delivered from.

FedEx Express packages can only be redirected to FedEx Office Print & Ship Center or FedEx World Service Center locations in the same delivery area (based on recipient’s ZIP code) of the Express ramp/station the package would have been delivered from.

A package can only be redirected one time during its life cycle. A Ground HAL package cannot become a RTH package.
