English term

Hoochie coochie man

Gypsy woman told my momma, before I was born
You got a boy-child comin', gonna be a son-of-a-gun
Gonna make these pretty women, jump and shout
And the world will only know, a-what it's all about

Y'know I'm here
Everybody knows I'm here
And I'm the hoochie-coochie man
Everybody knows I'm here

On the seventh hour, of the seventh day,
on the seventh month, the seventh doctor said:
"He's born for good luck, and I know you see;
Got seven hundred dollars, and don't you mess with me

Y'know I'm here
Everybody knows I'm here
And I'm the hoochie-coochie man
Everybody knows I'm here

Gypsy woman told my momma
Said "Ooh, what a boy,
he gonna make so many women,
jump and shout for joy"

Y'know I'm here
Everybody knows I'm here
And I'm the hoochie-coochie man
Everybody knows I'm here

Gypsy woman told my momma, before I was born
You got a boy-child comin', gonna be a son-of-a-gun
Gonna make these pretty women, jump and shout
And the world will only know, a-what it's all about

Y'know I'm here
Everybody knows I'm here
And I'm the hoochie-coochie man
Everybody knows I'm here

Additional 2nd verse from original 1954 Muddy Waters take:

I got a black cat bone, I got a mojo too
I got John the Conqueror, I'm gonna mess with you
I'm gonna make you, pretty girl, lead me by the hand
Then the world will know, the Hoochie-Coochie Man

Rosa Maria Duenas Rios (X) Jul 9, 2006:
Juan Jacob (asker) Jul 9, 2006:
Gracias.
Michael Powers (PhD) Jul 9, 2006:
Michael Powers (PhD) Jul 9, 2006:
Hola Juan.
Juan Jacob (asker) Jul 9, 2006:
Hola Mike: ¡Ah! Queda claro.

Re: Meaning of Hoochie Coochie

The meaning of the word comes from the combination of the two words of American origin, firstly

Hooch: a slang term meaning an illegal alcoholic beverage specifically during the period of prohibition

and

Cooch: A delightful euphamism for the female genitalia

as such a "hoochie coochie man" was one who had his fair share of both booze and women, god bless them.

Depending on which interpretation you believe, a "hoochie coochie man" is either a sexual powerhouse or a hoodoo magician, though both meanings are used in the song.

"Hoochie Coochie Man" by McKinley Morganfield, a.k.a. Muddy Waters, tells many stories. The song is full of expression and emotion. Through his lyrics, Waters tells the tale of his life. The actual title of his song tells much of the story. "Hoochie" is a play on the word "hooch", which is a type of alcohol similar to moonshine and "coochie" or "cooch" refers to the female genitals. (Mintz) So, a "hoochie coochie man" would be a man that likes having lots of women and liquor. His life consists primarily of the two.

I didn't suggest "chulo" by itself because in some places it means pimp. It depends on the regional use of the word. Thank you for the agree. - teju :)

Oxford

cunt / kVnt / n (vulg)
a (female genitals) coño m (vulg), concha f (AmS vulg), chocho m (Esp vulg), chocha f (Col vulg), chucha f (Chi vulg), pucha f (Méx vulg)
