Hola
estoy traduciendo un manual de usuario de un yate y me aparece este término. No consigo encontrarlo y no sé si podría ser una errata porque ya he encontrado otras.
Mil gracias por adelantado.
ANCHORING:
- Lough the boat through to *********lose way,
- Pay out.
When anchored:
- Release the chain or cable from the cable-lifter,
- Secure the chain on the cleat.

perder/quitar arrancada
Offically, according to the Col Regs, a vessel has way on her when she is not anchored, moored, berthed or aground.
Steerage way is the slowest speed at which a vessel can be steered.
The original text is not very clear. Generally, you luff up and bring the boat to a stop, then lower the anchor and pay out chain to the required scope either backing the foresail or by using the engine astern dead slow. the orignal merely says to slow the boat, which is not really good practice.
However, the common term in Spanish es quitar arrancada.
