Personalmente, traduciría como nombre genérico

: A mí me parece que DCI es lo que toca. Son términos equivalentes de la OMS. El DCI es un nombre genérico, pero en principio, hay otros, como el DOE, por no hablar del USAN, que puede ser distinto (p.ej., acetaminophen por paracetamol).

Sí; completamente de acuerdo. Como ya dicho, DCI aquí es correcto y probablemente no hace falta darle más vueltas. Mi lectura es cuestión de interpretación por uso habitual; "INN (nombre genérico)" (clas. intern.) vs. DCI aislado (que me remite al DOE).
