Buenas. En el manual de usuario de un ecógrafo me sale el término 'Thred'. ¿Alguna idea?
Contexto:
The user can toggle the image display mode, adjust the cut box, set up the image rotation angle, zoom rate, color, smooth and thred in the setup menu, as shown in Fig. D-5.
Contexto:
Thred
The adjusting of Thred is to filter image data below certain gray scales. There are several steps for selection.
Gracias.

En algunos lugares "thred" se emplea como contracción de "threshold". Como parámetro ajustable me parece más probable.
"The threshold ‘‘thred’’ for the similarly [sic, por 'similarity'] value was determined by the user according to the condition of the images under investigation. [...]
In this experiment, the threshold ‘‘thred’’ was set to 0.7 [...]"
http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/store/10.1002/cyto.a.21037/as...
A veces significa concretamente "threshold value for the red channel".

En particular, "The adjusting of Thred is to filter image data below certain gray scales" sugiere que se refiere precisamente a un umbral.

: Could well be, but here it's a variable name that shouldn't be translated.

Well, I can see the point of leaving them in English if the setup menu displays them in English, but the Spanish meaning should be added so that Spanish users know what the parameter means.

Thanks slothm. In the end of the day I don't think it matters what system is being referred to. It's a brand name.

Since the term appears only with capital T, does not seem to be an acronym in the source text, and has a Spanish equivalent in at least two references, you may wish to consider this option.
