English term

tainted income

English to Spanish Law/Patents
Australian text on taxation. It mentions the "controlled foreign companies".
The sentence reads: "tainted income (that is, passive, tainted sales and tainted services income)"
Does it have something to do with something "not transparent"?
THANKS!!!!

All perfectly legal, nothing irregular or doubtful. It is just a very odd legal term.

It's a funny one, isn't it? It really seems like it should have something to do with the underworld! But doesn't.
