Aquí yo creo que "punch" simplemente es "elegir" o marcar el texto de cada atributo/característica que muestra la interfaz o programa. No creo que sea "perforar", pero tal vez alguien que sepa más de programación lo pueda aclarar.

El propósito de la programacion esta oculto en el texto perforado de cada atributo

creo q la sintaxis del contexto fuente esta incompleta o incorrecta, pero pienso que se refiere a eso, a una técnica de programación para almacenar datos en un campo con una longitud fija, donde el espacio no utilizado se llena con un carácter especial, como asteriscos o espacios. El texto "perforado" es fácilmente legible y procesable por máquinas o software que procesan el formato.

'punch' is used in some softwares to refer to the way users interact with multiple-choice questionnaires. Example:

Is it a single punch question with answer options "20%", "50%", "80%"?
Or is it a multiple numeric question where the repondent [sic] enters probabilities?
