the real meaning ? Dario, in English, when we say "highly sensitive" we sometimes mean "uncomfortable" or "potentially offensive." Please note, your text does not say the CONFERENCE will be sensitive, but the TONE will be sensitive. I think this means that some of the professionals might be offended or insulted by the tone of the conference - perhaps if the focus of the conference is to challenge or question the professionals' common opinion.

We have the phrases "sensitive topic," "delicate subject," and "touchy issue," which are all synonyms and mean that the discussion might upset people or make people uncomfortable.
