Padding and bedding
Slopes up to 15 degrees, trench bedding can be carried out in accordance with the normal approved process, using an excavator to place the bedding transported from approved pit area by dump trucks or from mobile screening machine. For steeper slopes, the dump truck will be offloaded to a materials stockpile at either end of the slope, depending on the methodology identified in the WI
Where pipeline trench runs through steep slope >35%, sand breakers shall be provided so as to prevent erosion of bedding, padding and fill material.
