CONTRACTOR shall not start work on any unimproved road before obtaining approval from the authorities having jurisdiction and the COMPANY.
It is intended that most unimproved roads be crossed by the open-cut method.

All open-cut road crossings shall be provided with bypass roads, where required, to re-route traffic during construction. Road crossings shall be installed to ensure minimum delays to traffic. If double joint sections or short strings of pipe are required to facilitate road crossings, then all such pipe shall be pre-inspected and approved prior to cutting the road. In addition, CONTRACTOR shall ensure adequate bedding and backfill material are stockpiled adjacent to the WORK site prior to cutting the thoroughfare.
