English term

RFI notching

English to Spanish Tech/Engineering Computers: Systems, Networks
Estoy traduciendo un documento sobre redes para telefonía y en la sección correspondiente a las pruebas funcionales, dice:

"The above list of functionalities is not complete, but the most important are covered.
Other functionalities (not included in this test spec) that could be tested or shown are:
• SNR: check whether min, max and target noise margins are respected.
• **RFI notching**: check the correct implementation of **RFI notching**.
• U0 usage: check the usage of the US0 band (can be enabled or disabled).
• Max frequency and max number of bands: implicitly checked in the ETSI compliancy tests.
• Data reporting:
o Near-end and far-end operational data (attenuation, actual & attainable rates, actual noise margins): this was partly covered by the performance tests.
o Performance counters (Code Violations, Corrected Errors (FEC), Errored seconds, …): this will be partly covered by the stability tests.
o Carrier-data (bit loading, HLOG, SNR, QLN, …)"

He encontrado que RFI = radiofrequency interference (aunque no estoy segura).

Discussion

Joseph Tein Aug 2, 2009:
notching When I see the word 'notching' in this context, I think it may have to do with 'notch filters' or filtering, to eliminate the RFI (radio frequency interference). Maybe this could help you find the correct term.

filtrado selectivo de la interferencia de radiofrecuencia

RFI ---> interferencia de radiofrecuencia
I think the same as Joseph: this is about a 'notching filter' (filtro de muesca), an extremely selective filter intended to suppress an unwanted interference frequency (notch frequency) without disturbing the useful signal frequencies.

ajuste de la interferencia de la frecuencia de radio

Tal vez podría traducirse así, dado que desconozco cual es la sigla en español para RFI (interferencia en la frecuencia de radio)
