English term

CR / RES

English to Spanish Other Certificates, Diplomas, Licenses, CVs
Estas abreviaturas/acrónimos aparecen en un certificado de defunción de California en un ítem que dice:

- Type of Disposition: CR / RES

A pesar de que investigué, no logro encontrar que significan estas abreviaturas y/o acrónimos en este contexto.

Gracias,

Lorena

Discussion

Gabriela Wolochwianski Feb 17, 2019:
I had the same case, "RES" stands for residence. The ashes are kept in the relative's residence.
Taña Dalglish Feb 25, 2007:
WHAT IF THERE IS NO TRANSFER OF BODY .. IT STAYS IN THE SAME STATE?
Example given: Full Name: Benjamin Francis Gaines
Date of Death: 19 September 2001, 12:30 p.m.
Age: 93
Place of Death: At home; Rohnert Park, Sonoma Co. CA 94928
Married, wife: Living
Disposition Date: 24 September 2001
Type of Disposition: CR/RES
Not Embalmed
Place of Final Disposition: Res; Lillian Gaines, 1327 Parkway Drive; Rohnert Park, Sonoma Co. CA 94928. NOTE THAT IT IS WITHIN THE SAME STATE; No transfer of body/same address, so in this case RES would be RESIDENCE (MEANING ASHES KEPT AT HOME).
Lydia De Jorge Feb 22, 2007:
can you give us more context? I'm thinking CR could stand for cremation, but the RES has me stumped

On a death certificate issued in California. Under Funeral Director, Type Disposition it read CR/RES. Could it mean cremated?
I'd appreciate some insight.

neutral Manuel Cedeño Berrueta : Hi Taña. I don’t think you can talk/speak properly of “residence/residencia” referring to a dead person/body. Best regards.

Manuel, I merely used the reference I have found in the Kudos glossary (English/Italian) and I posted an additional link which proves that it is the residence/home of the deceased. Have you read my entry properly? I did say it was a possibility! Saludos
