Técnica artística que consiste en la deformación, por medio del calor generado por un horno, de una o más láminas de vidrio. Esta deformación puede ser orientada por un molde o soporte para conseguir distintas formas.

Esta técnica trata de formar piezas de vidrio, con relieve, para incluir en una obra de vidrieras. Paso a paso, se empieza haciendo una matriz (un positivo) de la cual se saca un molde de escayola (el negativo). Al verter cristal fundido dentro del molde, obtenemos el positivo (idéntico a la matriz), pero en cristal.

El desmoldeo del vidrio es un proceso que moldea láminas de vidrio en las formas deseadas mediante calor y gravedad. La lámina se coloca en un molde y luego en un horno, que se calienta a 700 °C. Esta alta temperatura ablanda el vidrio y lo adapta a la forma del molde gracias a la fuerza de la gravedad.
