Do not cut into the underground, otherwise it is possible that the joints will stand open!
While applying the wallpaper, immediately remove excess adhesives with clear warm water, using only a moistured natural sponge. Dry it with a clean cotton towel. When excess paste stays too long on the face of the vinyl it could cause a permanent damage.

Creo que seguimos hablando de drywalls, y en comparación con textos en ENG sobre el mismo tema, a esta altura me animaría a decir que se trata de una traducción (no mal hecha) de otro idioma ("in cutting direction", "a permanent damage", "it is possible that").
Creo que simplemente se refiere a no hacer un corte demasiado profundo, ya que se llegaría a los niveles internos de la placa, o por debajo del revestimiento que llevan las placas de yeso.
