Welding pattern pillow plate & Strength
Because there is such a great freedom in design a variety of different patterns can be welded. Every pattern has a burstpressure which in case depends on the thickness of the chosen plates, the material, the diameter of the spots and the spot distance.
Generally said, the larger the spot distance is, the weaker the pattern gets. The larger the spot diameter is, the higher the resistance against pressure is. By using thicker plates and varying the pattern an optimal ratio in pillow height and resistance against pressure can be found.

Думаю, что такой термин лучше всего передает форму этих пластин / плит. А именно форма является их ключевой характеристикой. Они типа надувных матрацев. Надувают их, наверное, жидкостью под давлением.
