Of the 37 deaths, 20 were in imatinib-treated subjects (CA180056 3-year CSR Appendix
5.18):2
• 14 due to disease progression
• 1 due to MI:
o CA180056-141-56525 (imatinib group), a 77-year-old white male with a history
of hyperlipidemia and who was undergoing treatment for systemic hypertension,
had an MI on Day 285 (CA180056 3-year CSR Appendix 5.15).2 This subject
had his last dose of imatinib on Day 286 and died the same day. The MI was
considered by the investigator to be related to imatinib.
• 3 categorized as “other”: 2 due post stem cell transplantation complications; 1 due to
an unknown cause/clinical deterioration and *decrease in performance status*
