"Diagnosis: Dried blood spot (DBS)

Warm the site of the extraction.
Cleanse site with alcohol prep.
Wipe DRY with sterile gauze.
Puncture heel with safe lancet (See instructions).
Wipe away first blood drop with sterile gauze pad.
Allow another large hanging blood drop to form.
Lightly touch the blood drop on the center of the 1st circle of the filter paper.
Allow blood to soak through and completely fill a circle with a single application.
Apply blood to one side filter paper only.
Do not put more than one drop in the same paper circle."
