Changing our present approach will not be easy. We seem to be in the middle of another fad stampede, and stampedes have a way of spoiling good ideas.
When a stampede hits our classrooms, directions change with such force that we get herd-like swings in educational policy and practice from the statehouse to the schoolhouse.

Pensando melhor e fugindo um pouco a fidelidade literal, talvez \"ondas sismicas\" fique

e elas tem a tendencia de estragar boas ideias. Quando um onda sismica atinge nossas
