Petatih

Ramona, if I have to, may I coin the word petatih. (DBP, don't come after me).

From the base word 'tatih', meaning to train a toddler to walk. Hence, a tool to help train a person to walk: Petatih.

(Like 'pembaris' is a tool to draw a straight line)

What do you think?

Grey matter.

agree with rkaru: petatih

or, perhaps 'pemenatih'.

blessing from dbp notwithstanding, i like your rationale for the coinage, rk. makes perfect sense - a word general enough to cover walkers for toddlers and those walkers used in physiotherapy. -yam-
