English term

Cognizable Offence

English to Italian Law/Patents Law (general)
Crime can be Cognizable or Non-Cognizable Difference between a cognizable and a non-cognizable offence is that in a non-cognizable offence the Police cannot arrest a person without orders of the court.
Therefore, the experience is that in a non-cognizable offence the Police Station officer records the complaint as a non-cognizable offense, commonly referred as a N.C., and advises the complaint or victim to apporach the court for further directions.

Il significato l'ho capito, però non riesco a trovarne l'equivalente in Italiano (Forse procedibile d'ufficio ???)

neutral Milad Mokhtari : Più contesto : A cognizable offence is one in which the police may arrest a person without warrant. They are authorised to start investigation into a cognizable case on their own and do not require any orders from the court to do so.

Comunque a me piace la tua soluzione "procedibile d'ufficio"
