obbligo di segretezza è in genere il titolo della clausola contrattuale in cui si conviene appunto che le Parti devono mantenere la più assoluta riservatezza / confidenzialità / segretezza su ecc. ecc. ... poi ognuno può formulare le frasi come vuole

: C'è una sottile differenza tra riservatezza e segretezza. Ad es. alcuni documenti sono "riservati", altri "segreti": il livello cambia (chi è autorizzato a leggere quelli riservati non necessariamente ha il nulla osta per accedere a quelli "segreti").

È evidente che una clausola di questo tipo dovrà essere controbilanciata dalla espressa previsione dell’esclusione delle informazioni che non possono considerarsi per loro natura confidenziali, cioè quelle liberamente ottenibili.
Normalmente, l’impegno di confidenzialità si estende anche al personale del ricevente, il quale deve garantire che l’utilizzo dei dati trasmessi avvenga in maniera da impedire eventuali fughe di notizie ad opera di suoi collaboratori.

"to keep confidential information". This means to "tenere le informazioni che sono riservate". What the author should have written is "to keep information confidential" "mantenere la riservatezza delle informazioni". The rest is even more difficult to correct and incomprehensible. I should advise the client.
