One of the lessons of the financial crisis was that diversification requires dynamically managed exposure to a broad range of asset classes with low correlation and risk characteristics in terms of the key drivers - and this is increasingly be reflected in investor portfolios. It will also lead to greater exposure to the emerging markets, where institutional investors will increasingly look to incorporate local currency-denominated assets in their portfolios.
