La frase è alquanto sibillina. Mi vengono in mente due possibilità.
N.1: che XXX proseguirà nella propria politica di investimenti in attività selezionate adottando un approccio "basato sui valori iscritti a libro/in bilancio". Per dirla in un'altra maniera: investirà in società con ottimi "fondamentali".
N.2: che XXX proseguirà con la propria politica di acquisizioni dirette in attività... , ossia che acquisirà il controllo delle società non indirettamente tramite un fondo o un veicolo ad hoc ma rilevandone una quota del capitale.
Se propendi per la prima ipotesi, potresti forse dire "XXX continuerà ad investire, prestando un occhio di riguardo ai fondamentali, in attività selezionate [...] con l'obiettivo di..." oppure "XXX continuerà a basare le proprie scelte di investimento in attività selezionate [...] su un'approfondità analisi dei fondamentali, con l'obiettivo di..." (la frase si presta senz'altro ad essere resa in modi diversi).
Se invece propendi per la 2a ipotesi, potresti dire "XXX proseguirà con la propria politica di acquisizioni dirette concentrandosi su attività... con l'obiettivo di..."
Per "invest on balance sheet" ci sono veramente pochi riscontri su Internet. Ho trovato invece un sito che parla di "balance sheet investing" e di cui ti riporto i passi più significativi in calce sperando che possano esserti d'aiuto.

Ti rispondo in nota perché c'è più posto... ;-) A me pare che la definizione che hai trovato calzi a pennello. Anche la tua resa mi sembra particolarmente efficace. Quindi ignora tranquillamente le mie proposte utilizzando l'opzione "answer found elsewhere" (in tutta onestà, non avevo proprio pensato a cercare on-balance sheet con il trattino tra on e balance) e inserisci la tua versione nel glossario che sono quasi sicura che un domani potrà far comodo anche a me... ;-)

| Grazie Monica per la risposta approfondita. nel frattempo ho trovato la seguente definizione che mi pare proprio adatta: On-balance sheet financing is any form of direct debt or equity funding of a firm. If the funding is equity, it appears on the firm's balance sheet as owners equity. If it is debt, it appears on the balance sheet as a liability. Any asset the firm acquires with the funding also appears on the balance sheet.Under most accounting regimes, if a sponsoring firm wholly owns an SPV, the SPV's balance sheets is consolidated into its own. Rather than have the SPV appear on its balance sheet as an asset, the sponsoring firm has all the SPV's individual assets and liabilities appear on its balance sheet just as if they were the sponsoring firm's assets and liabilities. This is on-balance sheet financing, which largely defeats the purpose of the SPV. SVP sono i veicoli di investimento speciale di cui XXX fa ampio uso.
