Awareness means "being informed' about something either through your own perceptions or by means of information being passed on to you. But it does not mean that you know that matter well or in details.

Well, that is what I thought would better express "awareness" in Italian since "awareness" is more of a American thing. What you all are saying is "know" and awareness is not "knowledge". Knowledge implies thoroughness. Sorry if I disappointed you.
