srl would be the achronym and in italy no srl can be public listed, otherwise it has to be a joint-stock company, i.e. spa or società per azioni

non credo sia rilevante se le azioni si chiamano shares o quotas... ma forse mi sbaglio

agree James (Jim) Davis : Agree except to say that an srl is a joint stock company even if the shares are called "quotas" and not "azioni", but like equity shares the quotas are all equal shares and not percentages of general stock.

agree Pompeo Lattanzi : Yes to "S.R.L.". Private could be translated as "a partecipazione azionaria ristretta" if needed: it might be evident in other parts of document. SRLs cannot be listed. I'm not sure about "quota" having to be equal shares, I don't think so.

It's what was used as the equivalent when I worked in Italy

neutral James (Jim) Davis : In che modo Monia? Non conosco due tipi di Srl, una pubblica, una privata come suggerisci tu. La traduzione deve tradurre il significato non le parole. Un "public school" inglese è una specie di scuola privata.

srl

una srl non pò essere quotata in borsa in italia. una spa ha la facoltà di essere quotata in borsa. Se l'inglese dice private, credo che significhi che non può essere quotata, quindi ritengo sia una srl. Se è una questione di traduzione libera allora facciamo una traduzione letterale, altrimenti ci serve un legale, madrelingua uk/it che sia esperto di diritto romano e common law

agree Matterhorn (X) : I due ordinamenti non coincidono, non c'è traduzione esatta. La Srl è quella che si avvicina di più, per i motivi detti da SSA. Giuridicamente sarebbe meglio lasciare [Indian] Private Limited Company, per non perdere l'ordinamento di riferimento.

io lascerei in inglese, e aggiungerei una nota spiegando che si tartta di una società di capitale a responsabilità limitata che si avvicina molto alla srl italiana
