Επέλεξα τον όρο «προσβάλλομαι» διότι ισχύει για όλα τα νοσήματα και όχι μόνο για τα μεταδοτικά. Π'χ. για τα καρδιοαγγειακά νοσήματα ,πορούμε να πούμε οτι τπ τάδε άτομο προσεβλήθει από στεφανιαία νόσο αλλά δεν μπροόύμε να πούμε ότι μολύνθηκε ή κόλλησε καρδιακή ανεπάρκεια.

Νομίζω ότι το ρήμα «Μολύνομαι από» δεν καλύπτει όλο το εννοιολογικό πεδίο του αγγλικού ρήματος γιατί αυτό μποεί να χρησιμοποιηθεί και για μη μεταδοτικά νοσήματα όπως ο καρκίνος ή οι καρδιοαγγειακές παθήσεις. Μερικά παραδείγματα χρήσης του ρήματος to contract a disease για μη μεταδοτικά νοσήματα :
