Έχω την εντύπωση ότι ο γιατρός σε αυτή την περίπτωση ζητά τα ακόλουθα:

FBC = Full Blood Count = γενική αίματος
type and RH = τύπο και rhesus
dip a urine = γενική ούρων

ICON = εικών κατά το Μιχαηλίδη

...αλλά τί είδους.. υπερήχων ίσως;

θα έλεγα ότι το \'ICON\' προέρχεται από τον όρο \'immunoconcentration\' χωρίς να είμαι σίγουρος ως μη ειδικός.

Ο γιατρός ζητά αυτή την εργαστηριακή εξέταση μάλλον για να δει αν υπάρχει έκτοπη κύηση.
Επειδή γίνεται με ανάλυση δείγματος ούρων, ίσως θα μπορούσες να το συνδυάσεις με το "dip a urine" και να γράψεις

"κάντε ανάλυση ούρων και ελέγξτε για έκτοπη"

για να κερδίσεις και χώρο.

A comparison was made between the Tandem *ICON* and Gravindex tests in the management of suspected ectopic pregnancy in 38 patients. The Tandem ICON test was significantly more accurate than the Gravindex in predicting an ectopic pregnancy. After the exclusion of cases with intrauterine pregnancy, there was no error when the Tandem ICON test was used, but 8 false negative cases were found with the Gravindex.

PIP: The Tandem ICON monoclonal antibody pregnancy test kit and the Gravindex beta-HCG slide test were compared for management of suspected ectopic pregnancy in 38 patients in Prince of Wales Hospital, Hong Kong, from 1985-1986. 17 of the women had ectopic pregnancies confirmed by laparotomy or laparoscopy, and 5 others had intrauterine pregnancy. There were no errors with the Tandem ICON tests, but 8 false negatives among ectopic and 1 false negative among the intrauterine pregnancies with the Gravindex tests. The Tandem ICON test takes about 5 minutes, uses urine, and is based on a blue color reaction with the antibody-labeled alkaline phosphatase enzyme. Its sensitivity is 50 IU/1 according to the manufacturer. Thus, using such a sensitive pregnancy test and ultrasound, ectopic pregnancies could be distinguished from intrauterine pregnancy in women with acute abdominal pain, without requiring diagnostic laparoscopy, although very early intrauterine pregnancy or concomitant intrauterine and ectopic pregnancy would not be revealed.

Να διευκρινίσω ότι στην απάντησή μου πήρα ως δεδομένο ότι πρόκειται για υποτιτλισμό, γι\' αυτό και προτείνω πιο γενικές εναλλακτικές λύσεις.
Η αναφορά μου στην έκτοπη κύηση προκύπτει συνειρμικά (εγκυμοσύνη, αιμορραγία, το ICON ως τεστ κύησης, κλπ), για να βοηθήσω να βρεθεί μια σύντομη απόδοση που να χωράει στον υπότιτλο. Κάλλιστα θα μπορούσε να χρησιμοποιηθεί κάτι άλλο αντίστοιχο, γι\' αυτό και σαν απάντηση δίνω και το τεστ κύησης.
Αν η ερώτηση είναι καθαρά ιατρικής φύσης, τότε σαφώς και το ICON πρέπει να μείνει στα αγγλικά ως trademark.
