This term is used in several business/retail contexts. A wire tag is also found on car engines, where it would be translated "Drahtanhäger" or the like. IMHO, however, a "Drahtanhänger" wouldn't fit for most other usages.

: Aufgrund der zusätzlichen Angaben von TDK stimme ich für "Drahtmarkierer/Kabelmarkierer" (Kennzeichnung der Drähte in einer Anlage).
