English term

source metal plate

Non-PRO English to German Tech/Engineering Electronics / Elect Eng photonic semiconductor
Fabrication of a semiconductor photonic device:
-preparing a source metal plate and a substrate, which consists of a IV element semiconductor, ...
-rinsing the source and the substrate ...

Obwohl sich "source metal plate" so einfach anhört, weiß ich nicht, was das ist :-(
Zudem wüßte ich gerne, ob "Spülen" für "rinsing" in diesem Zusammenhang korrekt ist.

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Quellen-Metallplatte

It depends on how you look at things. I'm assuming this deals with sputtering (Zerstäubung), where a metal plate is used as a target (see ref.) for ions from a plasma, and so becomes a source of metal particles (atoms or clusters) for deposition on a substrate. In publications in this field the term *Targetplatte* is also used.

Spülen seems fitting in this context.

Elektrodenblech

*source* - hier: *Elektrode*
*metal plate* - Metallplatte = *Blech*

Anm.: *rinse* = *spülen*, *abspülen*; passt hier genau
Peer comment(s):

neutral Harry Borsje : IMO this neglects the fact that the plate is (most likely) used as a deposition source; futhermore it could be much thicker than 'Blech', see e.g. http://www.semiwafer.com/products/sputter.htm
