English term

flybridge throttles

English to French Tech/Engineering Ships, Sailing, Maritime
On propulsion engines, the Instrument Panels, the Main Station and Flybridge Throttles, and the Indicator Lights and Switches are connected to the engine wiring harness by the marine transition harness.

I think "flybridge" = passerelle/pont supérieur and "throttles" = papillons, but that's all I've got. I'm lost.

Thank you Thank you all, that makes so much more sense now.
jmleger Aug 23, 2011:
Flybridge est communément usité chez les plaisanciers. Il s'agit d'un poste de commande surélevé, qui permet de mieux repérer les chasses de poissons pour la pêche sportive.
Tony M Aug 23, 2011:
Yup 'manette de gaz' is another term I've come across in this context, and it does get a lot more Google hits.
leroym Aug 23, 2011:
throttles, ce sont éventuellements des manettes de gaz également
Tony M Aug 23, 2011:
Not papillon Ah, now here, I'm sure it isn't actually 'papillon' (which refers to the specific component within the carburettor); here, they are talking about remote throttle controls — often 'levier de gaz' in nautical contexts.
