English term

tolerize

English to French Medical Medical (general)
Voici la phrase :

"Based on the experience with the other ERT, it is anticipated that with continued exposure to XXX [name of product] a decrease in titer value will be observed and that patients may tolerize over time."

Je sèche sur le terme "tolerize", qui se traduirait apparemment par "tolériser" (ce dont je ne suis pas certaine), mais que je ne comprends pas et ne sais pas comment intégrer à la phrase grammaticalement.

Merci d'avance pour votre aide !!

You are right concerning your text Céline, what I meant is that the term is not often used for patients.
Celine Rosselot (asker) Jun 26, 2006:
It seems to me that it's rather patients we are speaking about in my sentence, is it not? That's the reason why I selected Ana's answer rather than yours, but if you say it only has one meaning (maybe the word was misused in my text??), I'll try and edit my gloss entry. Thanks for your help!
Drmanu49 Jun 26, 2006:
I don't think that is exactly the same thing, it is not patients we are speaking about but LPS or inoculi.

Dearest Celine, i recommend you in this context to not use Tolerize as a verb. Better as a noun "tolérance", so you can express it as "to develop tolerance" "to appear tolerance".
